Inspired by recent trips to the South East of the UK, 'Thurrock Estates' makes use of the Akai MPK to externally sync with and control Reaper and the AE modular. The piece is split into 4 main sounds, routed through the 4ATT Fader and MixConsole module. These consist of an a-synchronous triggered bass, two separate sequenced melody parts and a modulating chord / pad using the Solina Strings module. Delay is added using the LoFi Delay module, and reverb is routed using a send to the Yamaha REV500. Changes in one of the sequenced melody parts are created using the MPKs built in arpeggiator. The piece was then recorded live with adjustments made on the fly.

It's hard to pick a track but the opening bits of Sunsmack let you know what you're in for and the rest of the EP doesn't let up at all. Fantastic all the way through. J Brandt

Wonderful album in the Berlin School tradition that you can't help but listen to several times in a row (as I did, again, today)! Krakenkraft/Etherkraken
