Having tried a few times to come up with something that I could use as a single patch, in the end I used three separate patches, based on the same note information in the SEQ16. Recorded into Logic with a bit of compression and some light reverb on the whole mix.
My AEModular setup is basically a Starter Rack 2 with the addition of the SEQ16 and a 4I/O (really useful for the multitracking). All sequencing is done using the SEQ16 rather than using MIDI, although the three different passes were of course synced to MIDI clock. I enjoy using modulation on the lofi-delay, giving the slightly drunk/wonky feel to the opening 'pad' sound. I could have really used a kick drum module so instead had to use VCO/Wasp VCF/Envelope to get something approaching a kick. Hi-hat sounds were easier, modulating the decay of the HH envelope to give an approximation of opening and closing.
As is usual for me, the whole process took place in a single afternoon session (otherwise it would never get finished!).

"Extremely delicate and light in a way that seems not to be of this world." This is the very definition of the word 'ethereal' . . . and also of this album.
