The SEQ16 sequencer doesn't seem special at first glance. It doesn't have the fancy digital components of most digital sequencer counterparts, yet the SEQ16 analog sequencer easily forms the a single component in a larger manually patched complex sequencer. Three SEQ16 sequencers plus one SEQ8 sequencer forms the core of my ""complex"" sequencer: The SEQ56. Four sample-&-hold modules, two beat dividers, buffered multiple, TRIP, rbss, and an old-fashioned bucket-brigade DELAY flesh out the rest of this complex sequencer. The beautiful thing about modular: You can patch anything complex from basic modules. Yes, it takes time to build, but it's worth it!
Since this patch has been a test bead for the new AE ported TH555 oscillator, I have two drones in the bass playing a perfect fifth. So far the 555 is proving nearly as stable as the WAVETABLES and FMOS digital oscillators. This will be a welcome addition/replacement for the original VCO for the AE Modular system.
It's hard to pick a track but the opening bits of Sunsmack let you know what you're in for and the rest of the EP doesn't let up at all. Fantastic all the way through. J Brandt
