For this track I wound up sampling a tonne of sounds from my AE Modular rack, and arranged them in Ableton. I ran some of the samples through my Empress Effects Zoia, while the rest of the effects are coming from Ableton devices.
The drums are from the micro drum modules from Wonkystuff (plus some noise on top of the rimshot). The snare has a long pre-delay on the reverb in Ableton, and the hats have some distortion on the high end for some extra crispyness. The bass drum had some fuzz effects added to the low end with my Zoia, before being processed further in Ableton. You'll also hear a top end rhythm coming from the Kaestle drum.
The bass is a bass sample of mine being playing through the SAMPLYR module. It's top end has been slighly cut off using the WASP filter, with some added resonance. Fuzz effects added to it using the Zoia for some extra harmonics. This has some weird filter modulation then applied in Ableton. A second copy of this is then ran through a high pass filter for some loud and fuzzy bass stabs that come in every once in a while, with some automated panning to make it sound like you're getting zapped in the brain!
Most of the other sounds are coming from the Kaestle being passed through the wasp filter and delay. These make up the lead, bells, risers, and weird glitchy sounds you hear sprinkled throughout the track.
The entire arrangement was done in Ableton, allowing me to do some further envelope control, sequencing, filter modulation, and melodic mangling.
