Bassline and short melodic notes are two 555 oscillators that are controlled by two RBSS's send through a quantizer & CVTool.
Background chord is Le Module 01, the shorter, rhythmic chord stabs are Solina. Solina chords are manually controlled, while its rhythm (triggering) is controlled by the Topograph 'snare' output. Topograph itself is modulated by Sloth, so the rhythms are always slightly changing. Drums are controlled by a combination of Euclid Grid, Topograph and TRIQ164. Drums are all Wonkystuff microdrums: two BD's, one rim shot, the hihatt and cymbal. Lofi Delay and MultiFX are used for added 'space' and dub-iness in the mix.
The 'basis' track is all recorded and sequenced live in one single AE patch (on the picture). The 'dub siren' sounds are a one take overdub with another, quite simple patch. One 555 sine wave is the 'siren', while a cycling envelope through CVTool is controlling its frequency. Frequency is also manually 'played' with the knob, and the siren is also manually triggered with a second envelope push button (that ENV is used to control the VCA). Gradually, a second 555 is inserting some extra FM and Hard Sync to the first oscillator (but you cannot hear the second oscillator in itself). For this one I added an outboard effect, the 'Hypnosis' by Dreadbox, which adds extra Chrous/Delay/Spring Reverb for extra spacey sounds. Some mixing/compressing/saturation/EQ/panning is done afterwards in Ableton.

It's hard to pick a track but the opening bits of Sunsmack let you know what you're in for and the rest of the EP doesn't let up at all. Fantastic all the way through. J Brandt

Saw the YouTube video for this one and had to pick it up ASAP. Hainbach and Look Mum No Computer are both stellar but this little collaboration is truly out of this world. osmotic
